    Non resident F1 tax filing
    Hi,

I have been a student in the us for the past two years. Last year instead of the 1040 nr ez, I filed the 1040 ez form. Should I do an amendment for last years returns? Also what is the standard deduction and what amount is exempt for 2010 tax filing for f1 students? Is that the only deduction I can claim if I filed the 1040 nr ez form this year?

You definitely filed the incorrect form, so you need to amend the return by submitting Form 1040X and attaching a properly-prepared Form 1040NR-EZ plus Form 8843.

If you need professional help filing your amendment, email me at [email protected] or [email protected].
