Irregular bleeding while on active birth control
I've been on birth control for about a year now. I started on Loestrin 24 then switched to lutera, the generic form of alesse and have been on it for 6 months now. I haven't ever really had any problems before. I was experiencing cramps, which felt menstrual for about a week and then I had sexual intercourse with my fiancé. The next morning I woke up and I was spotting, which lasted 2 days. Then I began to have light bleeding which also lasted 2 more days, then it went back to spotting accompanied by severe cramps and pains in my abdomen and left side. This was alll happening while on the active white pills. I had sexual intercourse with my fiancé this weekend again and afterwards I was having a light pink tinged blood which only lasted a minute after sex. Im still having some mild cramping and I've been nauseous. What could this be?

Did you miss any pills? Or were you on any antibiotics recently?

As for the bleeding after sex, were you lubricated enough?

Haven't ever missed a pill and haven't been on antibiotics. And yes, I was lubricated enough.

It may be nothing, but it's always better safe than sorry. I'd check with your doctor just to make sure.

Spotting is not unusual during the first months of being on the pill, but if it's been 6 months, you might want to see your doctor. I've had spotting after sex once or twice and it turned out to be from rough sex. Even if you are lubricated, it can happen. But if it happens again, go to the doctor just to be sure.

Yeah I found it a little unusual that I'm 6 months into my pills yet I'm having this problem. Can't really go to a doctor right now because I'm uninsured due to a recent move and my health insurance I have doesn't cover me where I am living but I'll def be working on that !
