The unit in question has been stored inside and not started for several months exhaust valve is stuck can I pour a solvent through the spark plug hole to loosen it up? Thanks dave

If it is really stuck, you will have to pull the head and "massage" the valve. Try turning the valve after wd40. Light taps with cam lobe down and then gently pry up with a wooden or plastic tool. If the valve has been open and exposed to elements, you may need to reseat the valve with lapping compound.
