    Cartilage Piercing Pain
I had my cartilage pierced at Claire's about 9 years ago (with a gun), and went through the normal healing process. I took it out about 2 years ago, but the hole never closed up. About two weeks, I bought a new hoop to try it out again. It went through with no problem, but since then has been VERY tender and sore, even when not touching it. I went to a piercing parlor, and the guy there said it didn't look infected or anything, that pain was normal. My question is has anyone else experienced this? Is it truly normal, and how long should the pain last? It's driving me crazy, and I'm tempted to take it out again for good. Is there anything I can to alleviate the pain? I've been using H2Ocean spray, in the attempt that it would help, but it hasn't really. Thanks for any help you may have!

If the hole isn't superating then don't worry about it. I have had my piercings for well into 40 years now. From time to time get tired of having something in one of them and take it out for a long period, put back in again for a change. There is a slight bit of sting at times but nothing I have to worry about.

Could be there was just a thin layer of skin grown over that you pierced again.

    Just keep it clean.

Ok, awesome. There hasn't been any discharge or anything really... Thanks, though!
