My adult child is trying to change her name and refusing to take DNA.
My adult child is changing her identity--using last name of man I was legally married to @ age 16. In 1973 (same year of child's birth), I married her biological father and we raised our child together. The past few years, adult child has encountered legal problems with law-such as warrants... and now claiming another man as her father in order to avoid responsibility of issued warrants. Recently, biological father and myself have taken DNA; but, adult child refuses DNA testing. What must I do to force DNA testing for my adult child before she commits to criminal act of false identity? Can a court order be issued for DNA?

    Hello j:

So, you want to STOP her from changing her name so she can go to jail... If she weren't your daughter, I'd say fine... But, she's your DAUGHTER... You don't have to approve of what she's doing. But, you don't have to INTERFERE.

First, she's not a child. She's legally an adult.

I don't know how changing her name or claiming another man to be her father changes any warrants that are out for her. Her name change will show up if any law enforcement agency attempts to locate her.

You cannot force her to take DNA testing because she is an adult. I fail to see how changing her name is a criminal act of false identity.

No, a Court order cannot be issued for DNA.

She could change her name to anything if she wanted to and the Court approved the change.

If she simply ASSUMED another name, then it's another story. When you say "name change" I am ASSUMING this is a legal process.
