    Residential lease
If a new landlord buys your apartment building are the tenants responsible for any damages? Or did the new landlord buy as is?

    Hello a:

That's kind of an apples and oranges question... He bought it subject to your lease. That works to HIS advantage and YOURS too. So, if you did any damage, even if it was BEFORE he bought the building, you're responsible for it, just like you'd be responsible for it if the building never got sold.

Isn't that better than having the new and/or old owner charge you for the damage in the middle of your lease just because he wants to sell the building?? You wouldn't have liked that very much, would you?
