How can you find out who owns a unregistered property on a private road
Define "unregistered? Every piece of property should be listed by the recorder of deeds for your county. When a county is first set up, surveyors are sent out to map the county and determine each plot of land. A plat map is then created and modified as property is subdivided and changes hands.
So the county should know who is the registered owner of any piece of property.
The property is a bungalow in a set of 10-12 bungalows on a plot of land that is privately owned and we have asked a solicitor to check who the house is registered to and it has come back as unregistered ?
What we need to find out is if the people who live in the property own it or rent it from a private landlord

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.
Again, define "registered" I've never heard of a property that doesn't have a listed owner. If the property has been the abandoned, the local government either takes it over or sells it for taxes. Or there may be an owner that can't be found. But SOMEONE has title.
