Ask Me Help Desk - Identity Theft Emails

I have called Yahoo and told "THEY JUST CHANGE PASSWORDS" has anyone had Identity theft on emails and after account hacked- did they do more than take Credit Card information or personal information. I found emails of my 'ex' boyfriend - his Trash was clean his Inbox was only minimal emails and Deleted bin was Empty- - but I looked in sent and found numerous emails to postings on craigslist with his profile and pictures and explicit dialogues with others. He denied it was him, With his cell # and the 2 cities he lived in. I believe it was his and he's lying - the spam would've been multiple cities and not his language type. Feedback please?

It would help to give you feedback if we could understand what you are talking about. Could you try and rephrase your question so its coherent?

What you claim cannot have happened, kk. How do you 'call' Yahoo? They can't change passwords on their own. If you had your account hacked then, you enabled someone to do it.

Yes, agree this makes no sense. OP is obviously too upset with her ex to actually explain what happened.

Hello tickle 8073 and ScottGem 19239 I opened now ex's laptop email'sent' box 2/2/2011 which had explicit emails setting up hook ups to craigslist people 4 sexual content. I was shocked-- not only that --but as I was viewing emails --An instant chat appeared with a lady asking if he was going to see her that Friday I asked who is this -said she'd known him for 2 years another shock-
Back to emails and Ex- When I asked 2/2- he said "THAT IS NOT ME -I told you I had my account hacked -- They can do anything these days- they took my personal information and used it for those emails-" -
My reply ?why didn't you change your email address? Close that account? Why would Hackers use/keep your cell number- if hookup called it would not be you, WHY did they keep your photos it would not be you- why was the language slang in these 'stolen identity emails' so like yours- 'See you in a bit, I'm on my way.' too many coincidences. HE WAS ADAMANT that he had identity theft and told me about it months before- I do remember he told me of identity theft Nothing Specific -- that the hackers took his profile and used his account doing these things He swears it wasn't him and he never looks at his "SENT" box that's why he didn't know this was going on. He called YAHOO that moment (?)and he told me they took this information from his laptop (he had his cell and I believe he deleted his emails from his cell He said he couldn't do that )and Yahoo is 'investigating' these occurrences. 1) there are too many issues 2) he is techky how could he not know 3) I believe I caught him because he just FORGOT to check his sent knowing he'd covered his tracks by clearing his SPAM, his Trash, his outbox and cleaned up his emails. That way he always left his computer on so I would have no reason to DOUBT him and if I looked there would be nothing there for me to find, but I checked "SENT" which he never looked at and CAUGHT him. Basically I have 5% doubt that some hackers would use HIS email HIS cell# HIS slang HIS photos to capture craigslist people to hook up with so he's lying and I was looking for more proof.

Of course he posted this and was doing these chats. For heaven sake they had and used his own phone number.

And how can you have 5 percent doubt,

A hacker could get in and use email to send spam, someone sent out a lot of viagra ad from mine one time, think it was a virus.

So unless a friend of his, stole his password, no this is him, and if he changed his password ( he should have,) this is him.

Fr_Chuck - I sincerely appreciate this answer. My closest friend, counsler, and son all agree with you, apparently something in my 'being' so wishes this not to be true. It's overwhelming I am in denial -all he said- all I found- and still his words haunt me that HE DIDN'T do it. Well Seems I have some healing to do.I feel like the movies watching people knowing what is going on and THEM not having the foggiest. It seems incredible that foggy person is me. I am really quite accomplished must be some inner driven personal need that is causing this. Ok Thank you Again.
