Be sure to check for codes--it could easily be a bad Crankshaft Position Sensor or a bad Camshaft Position Sensor.

You have a crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor. Did you check all under hood and under dash fuses?

I have a blue spark coming out of the coil, very slight spark at the plug, every thing corroded inside the dist. cap like frosted green,I can understand the slight spark but the backfire still seems like timing.dist. turns OK... eddie

Replace rotor, distributor cap, wires, and spark plugs (ACDelco only).

The truck has a 4.3 motor, the symptoms I had I never would have thought the corrosion in the dist could cause a out of time act.this truck was running fine 2 days ago with the same corrosion... eddie
