Connect 2 hard drives with 2 os in one computer
    Dear Sir,
I am having a home built PC and I would like to use 2 hard drives with one XP and one Vista. Can you please tell me what type of switch I need to switch from one HD to another or exactly what do I need and do you think this will work or stay with one HD. I have heard of people doing this and I wonder if it can be done without problems by a professional. I await your answer. Thank you... TUDY

It's certainly possible, you don't need a professional depending on your comfort level with your PC, and you don't need any type of switch. You are interested in what is referred to as dual booting. You can dual boot two operating systems by partitioning one hard drive or by installing one OS on each of two hard drives. I don't know the specifics for Vista off-hand, but a Google search for Vista XP "dual boot" would probably point you in the right direction. I've read that the Vista installation routine will ask you if you want to install it and keep your old installation intact. Apparently, this automatically sets up a dual-boot configuration with your old OS and Vista, but again, I don't have Vista and I don't know the specifics.
