    State tax refund taxable
I filed 1040NR-EZ in last year and got $200 state tax refund (CA). Since I can't claim standard deduction by filing 1040NR-EZ, should I include all $200 into taxable income? I claimed standard deduction on 540NR, I didn't receive 1099-G. 2009 state tax withheld on my W2 was $2500.

So for tax year 2009 you had $2500 withheld for CA taxes and got back a refund from CA of $200 (in 2010), right? For tax purposes this money is not income to you UNLESS you had deducted state taxes on your 2009 tax return. Since you did not itemize deductions on your 2009 return, this money is not income to you.
