I need help! My wages were garnished in NJ about 6 months ago and are taking it weekly from my paycheck. I did not receive notice of the judgement date from my mother , who signed for this letter, but forgot to tell me so I failed to show up for the judgement!
I am now forced to pay through my employer but now I am so broke due to "undocumented" child support for 3 kids weekly so the only debt the court knew of was the ONE credit card debt they garnished me for. Honestly, I am not an innocent victim but I barely have enough money for gas and lunch to get to work everyday now!
Can I ask the courts to recind the garnishment order since my mother forgot to tell me or can I ask the courts or this creditor to please reduce the garnishment if I can prove that I am paying cash support to their 2 mothers every week which leaves me flat broke?
