What am I supposed to do?
My husband and I live on a Military Housing Insulation. For some reason recently weird things have started to happen. Lights have been turned on and off during the night. Doors end up unlocked. Closet doors are open in the morning after being closed. The recent event has made me seek help. Tonight, well I guess you could say this morning at 12:00a.m. or a few minutes after I heard my kitten mewing. She had been laying asleep next to my head last time I knew and then suddenly she was in this tiny crack being pulled through it. She looked really scared. I stood up out of bed and pulled her out of the crack, soothed her, and laid down A few minutes later the bed underneath me started to shake, my blankets started to be pulled off me and my husband started to mutter in his sleep. I tried to wake him up for ten minutes and he wouldn't budge. By the time I did get him awake I was in tears and refuse to sleep in my room anymore. I have had such a hard time sleeping in this house to begin with because he's never home and always on the road at work. I keep hearing movement upstairs like someone's walking but no one is. I want to know if anyone knows how to make this stop. I'm not going to be scared in my own home. It's my home, and I'm here primarily all the time. And if I can't sleep here, no one can.

I know how to make it stop. I'm glad you sound willing to stand your ground. It IS your home and you have every right to be there and feel comfortable! At this point I can only guess as to WHY it's in your home. How long have you been there before you noticed anything strange? I do not believe for one moment this is a human spirit... so don't let it fool you into thinking it is. You're going to want to find someone who can walk through spiritual warfare with you. You will best find this in the full gospel churches. Feel free to interview the pastor about this subject before anyone comes out. This thing needs to be removed by the power of Jesus Christ and none other. Might I inquire of your spiritual background?

It is my home, and I'm not dealing with it. I have no idea why it'd be in my home. I've worked in a variety of different haunted places. When I was born I was born in the placenta. They say that babies that are born with the 'Caul' or born in the full placenta have supernatural powers. Or just react to the supernatural as if they're more susceptible. I definitely don't think it's a ghost. A ghost is a spirit, a spirit that hasn't passed on yet. Still searching the Earth for his or her's answers. It's more of a demon I feel. I'm not a huge religious person, but I think that I believe in God enough to ask for his guidance and faith in this situation.

I wouldn't put too much faith in the whole "caul" thing. From what I've known, it sounds more like an old wives tale than anything. I would suggest you find a full gospel church and a pastor who knows what he's talking about to come over and pray with you. It's not something that HAS to be done by clergy... but seeing you don't consider yourself a religious person... I don't know if you're prepared for that kind of stand. It is by God's grace and mercy that we have authority over those spirits... but that is also really only to born-again believers. Might not be what you want to hear, but it's in the Word and I've never encountered anything to show me otherwise. Let me know if I can help even more or if you have any questions.

I can put faith in anything that suits my life, God doesn't have to come into play with every single thing that happens. I can see you're a religions person and I respect that but I don't need God to come in and rid a spirit or deciples of God. I'm fine with being alone without him. Born-again-believers only believe in the thought of him, and what he's supposedly done. I would rather fight off something happening in my house than ask someone to come into it and do some hoaxy thing for me. I only pray when I need to. After my friends have died off since I was about 12. I think I'm better off alone in this limbo. Thank you though.

Sounds like you're doing a lot of guess work in your life. Good luck with that. How's that turning out for you by the way? I'm here if you need me.

Hi, I have had experiences like yours at different times, and places of my life. And it seems to me that you think you have power over these things that torment you and Im sorry but you do not. Spirituality can only be understood, and battled in the spiritual. And since you are human your own capabilities are only physical, and measured by your own strength. Power within your own spirit comes only from outside forces
For example ; demons, angels, God, or even satan. Now your problem is simple, but it is not what you think.
You are rejecting God, and therefore rejecting angels, and all the light, and good it takes to battle this evil, and darkness. Trust me when I say that I have had these experiences, and know beyond doubt that devils, and demons tremendously hate, and fear the name of Jesus, and where there is Jesus there are no devils, nor demons to torment you. I warn you to not try and fight this on with your own strength ignore it because it loves attention and the longer it goes on the more it will control your very mind the thoughts of rejecting God that you have is evidence of this control. I mean no harm but I pray for you. Please just one time give the name of Jesus a try. Next time you have an experience say, better yet YELL! JESUS with all your heart, and you will witness the fear of evil spirits... GOS BLESS...

Let me try to make some sense of this situation. Have you tried keeping a diary of what's going on around you? It might be helpful as there are different types of hauntings. You could be involved with one or more of them. Also if possible try to record what is going on. A simple tape recorder or digital recorder could lend you some insight. You could catch an EVP ( Electronic Voice Phenomena). Or try to video record activity to see what you might catch like a shadow demon or apperition.

Have you tried talking to it. Like stating when you feel them there to go away and it is your house now? Those are just a few suggestions you might think about.

In The Name of God, Most Gricious, Most Merciful.
Right now I don`t care about your religion in it that I just want to help you as a human being against the enemies of all men. They are the shayaateen, satans, among jinn, or ghosts, and specifically the leader of them: Ibliis -may Allaah curse him.
I hope you`re not one of those islamophobists the western world`s full of, so that you won`t benefit from my advice anything because you`ll just ignore it, and some people will insult me just because I advice this, but if you really mean business and want to drive this evil spirit, or spirits, away from your home and ever get a good nights sleep, then I have the cure.
Go to www.all-quran.com, choose a reciter, download the first and the second Chapter (Al-Fatihah, and Al-Baqarah), and the three last Chapters of The Holy Quran. Listen to them from beginning to end in your home after every sunset. They will be gone in three days no matter how strong devils they are. It`s advicable that you listen to the three last Chapters (Suurat Al-Ikhlaas, Suurat Al-Falaq, and Suurat An-Naas) three times each, and begin your day with these three too. They are recited in arabic as they were revealed, and that`s the only way to recite. All of the reciters are permissible, but if you want a strong reciter, I would choose Shuraim or Al-Sudais, because they are the leading reciters in the two Sacred Mosques on Makkah and Madinah. If you want a touching, deep reciter, then go for Abdul-Baaset, or Abdur-Rashiid Suufii, or Misari Al-Efasy.
Also if you start you day by Surat Al-Jasin, you will find your affairs became easy and beneficial.
Best whishes, Abu Bakr, a finnish muslim.

This is a science forum and not a religious forum. Please stop answering all the questions with the same preaching tone. Your beliefs are respected here but please don't clog the boards with them. Be brief. And don't preach in these forums thanks.

I think that you need to be sure of what is happening , First!

It seems some are taking long long jumps to the conclusion
That it is a paranormal event on very little evidence.

Many things happen that cannot be explained.

Many more strange things happen that can be explained by logical, rational thought and investigation when at first
They seem too strange to be explained.

What appear to be shapes and figures can be reflected lights or dust in the air or any number of things.
Your brain has the power to "see" what is expected, real or not.

The fields electric currant emit can affect how we feel and make you uneasy.
Variation in the power supply to your house can cause appliances to do things they normally don't.

When we get scared we perceive things differently than we do when we are not scared.
And strange unexplained things are scary.

But I believe in the paranormal.
    I have experienced it.

But with the recent interest in "ghost hunters" and hauntings that proliferate the TV
Now, have caused too many people to look for paranormal answers first , instead of
Looking at other possibilities first and foremost because 90% of the answers are there in
The rational reality of everyday life.

When the rational is ruled out, then it is only rational to look elsewhere.

I think you need to look closely
And be objective at what is happening to you.

Keep a written record of the time, date, and what happened.

Try to get recordings, pictures, video, or any thing you can think of to maybe help.

Weather, the angle of the sun , reflections from passing cars, bikes, toys or hundreds
Of things can seem something they are not.

Houses can make some amazing noises when expanding and contracting
    As they heat and cool.

Keep an open mind about this as you look into it.

Because you are told that something will help does not mean it will help you.

All situations are different and there is not a single answer.

Weigh the suggestions and try what seems best for you.

Actually I`m not inviting anyone to Islam here, so you`re mistaken to think I`m preaching. And if you want me to be brief in order not to `clog boards`, then why do you insist on repeating my reply, and not just comment on it `briefly`. It appears you don`t mean what you say. Anyway my intention to help these people in the problem they seek help for is sincere. If you don`t think it, works, then the matters of the unseen are not something I will debate with you. Give your advice to the questioner, if you an snawer. I do have an answer, so quit bugging me with your islamophobia.

Besides, the questioner was asking for help. If you compare our replies, then it appears that I am answering her need in my way, while you are answering her in your way. There`s no need to argue. Your reply was good also.

The comments feature is for just that making a comment. Its not for answering the question. Also it is misleading in that you have no idea which of your posts I would be commenting on. That is why its quoted. And now making an accusation of me being islamaphobic is just untrue. I have asked other members that have gotten preachy in this section to lighten up also. Since your answers start becoming cut and paste rather then passing along something or increasing the knowlage of the site it becomes out of line.

Its not about religion its about the way the message is presented.

If you want to preach Islam... there is an Islam forum for that. The rest of us don't want to hear it.

The OP has stated that God does not enter into her beliefs, so how is turning to God or whatever higher being your pray to, helping her with her problem?

We are a very large forum, and we have many different beliefs. It's not appropriate to preach your God to someone that has specifically stated that that's not an option.

How would you feel if I went to the Islam forum and started preaching Deism? I'm sure you would take offense.

I`m not. I was answering her question.

Ok. Thanks for clearing that up. I`m just wondering what all this has to do with helping the person whose house in haunted. Shouldn`t we concentrate on the topic in stead of criticizing each others?

Excellent reply. You should be a diplomat or psychotherapist or something, because you can calm a person with such sound reasoning. Way to go.

Excuse me, please? I don`t understand what people are so offended about. If she takes my advice or she doesn´t it`s up to her. I don`t see her saying she doesn`t believe in God. And if I were to receive an answer from you that you thought would help me in my trouble, then "NO; I WOULD NOT BE OFFENDED", even if I had doubts about it working or not. Get a grip on yourself.

I`m very sad that this forum has gone like this that in stead of people trying to help you (JessicaCaylee) anymore, they`re just trying to attack me, and prove me wrong, or injust, or shut me up. I`d like to know how your doing out there.

And people please you`ve made your point and everyone made the same point, so save it. Chill out, dudes.
