    There may be a credit you can take, but only if you claim your daughter as your dependent on your taxes for 2010. You can claim your daughter as your dependent if either (a) she is your qualifying child, meaning she is a full time student, did not provide over half her own support, and lived with you at least half the year (not counting time she may have been away at school), or (b) she is your qualifying relative, meaning her income is less than $3650 and you provided over half her support. In addition she must note on her own tax return that she can be claimed as a dependent by someone else. If you claim her as a dependent then you may be able to take either the American Opportunity Credit or the Lifetime Learning Credit (but not both), depending on your income level.
