If grounding to a grounding rod, how deep should the rod be inserted into the ground? This is for a small(800 rated watts/900 maximum watts) portable generator. I bought an 8'-0 grounding rod and NextI need to know what length to cut the rod.

Soil type will determin the depth you need to go, but four feet is a good rule of thumb for a generator.
