If I pour gas in the intake it will run till that's gone and die. Is this a filter problem or possible vacum?

Could give more info if I had a model #
If this was made in 1963 could be diaphram between tank and carb.
Luck
Yes, It has a diaphram above the screen in the tube I think. I sprayed a little carb cleaner in the screen and it pooled up and slowly drained into the tube. It finally got enough in there that I could see it move from the top to the bottom when I turned it upside down. Shouldn't that run on through the carb when turned upside down? If so, I may have to remove the needle bearing and clean it a lot better.

I would take it apart and clean it good , and put a new diaphram in it,
