Don't worry. Unless her Dr. has said she is at risk, just don't worry yourself. A miscarriage is possible with ANY pregnancy, so worrying will do you no good.

Instead, celebrate the new family member! :)

    Congratulations!

I don't think there has ever been a pregnant woman, that didn't worry about the possibility of a miscarriage. However they only occure in about 15 percent of all pregnancies. Not a whole lot is known about what causes a miscarriage, though there are a few theories. Just nothing really proven.(smoking and alcohol being two theories, along with working around chemicals, radiation, chromosomal abnormalities and infections) So long as she is going to her doctor and taking her prenatals and doing everything she possibly can do that is right for her and her baby, then she is doing what she can, and its out of her hands. All we can really do is the best we can, and pray for a healthy pregnancy and baby.there will always be something that we as parents worry about when it comes to our kids wellbeing. But just try to relax and enjoy this time. If you have concerns, deffinintely discuss them with her doctor. I think it would help her to do so, as hearing how often people needlessly worry about it would probably comfort her. Anytime you have any bleeding, or severe cramping, you should definitely consult your doctor however, as these can be normal, or they can be signs of miscarriage. Hope this helped

I have to agree with the answers you have gotten so far. There are MANY reasons that miscarriages happen, not all are expected and others are. If her doctor states that she is not at risk, or a high risk, then there is little to worry about. Stress can bring on problems with pregnancies in it's own way.

Many women have at least one miscarriage in their lives before they even know they are pregnant. Believe it or not.

But let me ask you this. Why does she think this? Has it happened in her family before?

She needs to discuss this concern with her OB so that s/he may put her at ease.
