a/c making thumping noises between floors?

I live on a 2nd floor condo and recently I have been hearing thumping noises coming from under the water heater. My husband and I fixed the water heater but the noises still continue from between the flooring between my neighbor and I. Her a/c is directly under where the thumping noise is coming from. Our a/c is 5yrs old and the water heater is 2yrs old. Please help.
