    Lump behind ear!!
Heyy, I've got a lump behind my right ear, it's squishy like a cyst and measures 5cm in length and 2cm in width.
It's getting more painful and I've had it since the 1st of January this year.
I've had problems with painful lumps on my head which are so painful that I can't sleep.
What do you think the lump could be??

On the scalp possibly folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicles), if pretty small; causes may be bacteria, yeast, or even mites. Usually very itchy, sometimes painful, not serious. Not easy to treat though. Another not serious scalp condition is seborrhea, little pustules of oil that are clogged from the normal release and spread across the skin and hair. Brushing with SOFT artificial bristles and washing with mild shampoo every day helps but doesn't always get rid of it. Some people find that antibiotics help with either condition, when topical ointments don't work.

(Enlarged lymph node if larger, possibly, but they shouldn't be squishy like a cyst. They enlarge when fighting infection but are not often felt above the neck, or a little higher in such conditions as mononucleosis. It's important to find out what the infection is. The ear is prone to mastoiditis, a bacterial infection spreading from the middle ear which can get serious.)

I'm not a doctor. See one.
