What does it take to find a parent unfit?
My husband and I are separated and he just gained 'custody' of our daughter after he tried to commit suicide and threatened to kill me and some other people (no more than 5 days before my daughter was handed over to him while I was out of country) and wrote it in a sworn statement. We are both in the military and fall under different rules since we are also stationed in Germany.

Who did he threaten to kill? The problem is that people lie - especially when it comes to family court. It's not uncommon for people to make false allegations of abuse or neglect against the other parent.

I don't know what you mean by he gained 'custody' - did you appear for the court hearing and object?

So what tribunal (court) is deciding this matter?
