    Are children born clever?
Are children born clever or do they get it from the way there parents talk around them like using big work and stuff

For example if I was really not clever and I sent my child to a home where smart people lived would my child be dumb like me or clever? (he go to an ordinary school in uk)

    The big old environmental question.
There are studies that have been done with twins who were raised in 2 different environments that as adults are completely different from one another. But does that mean that it effects their intellect, nobody knows for sure. So I do know that as a teacher I can tell the difference between the students that have a supportive home and those that don't. I do believe that socially you are a product of your environment... abusers tend to be those who were abused.

All that aside the most important thing you can do for child is love them!!

Love is the most important gift parents can give to their children. There is no such thing as dumb, but if you have such low self esteem that will effect the outcome of the child. Each child developes differently and each child is effected differently by their surroundings. You need to be confident that the child needs love and patience and you will have a beautiful child.

One Rule: Never use the word dumb or stupid. It is not true.

Children are just raised differently, For our 6 year old Nate, we never talked any "baby" talk, my wife talks to him and with him in French and Spanish, we even started him on Spanish lessons last year.

He uses words at a much higher level than his age. And of course he knows more Catholic prayers by heart than a noice nun.

But that does not make him "SMART" just educated,
