    Window Master Switch or Motor?
I have a 1997 Honda Accord LX. For several years now, the driver side window has had difficulty closing in cold or wet weather. Usually what happens is the window starts to go up, then stops, then starts, then stops... I usually have to pull the window up. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the Master Switch or with the Motor. Any thoughts on which, if either, it might be? I'm hoping to isolate the problem and repair it myself since I just made the decision to keep the car for a few more years and put $1,400 into it for an assortment of belts and front axis something or other... Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Keep window tracks clean--use silicone spray, a rag, and a small screw driver. It's also important to use all power windows regularly, otherwise the rubber gaskets can stick to the window and you can burn the lift motors out.

First, try spraying the switch with WD-40. If that doesn't solve the problem, you will have to check out the window lift. If you need a replacement, check out the prices online. These items can be prohibitively expensive from the dealer.
