I have a house 1953 with pricepfister stems and no replacement. Need a diverter valve
I just went to a proffessional plumber supply place and he did not have anything and gave me a replacement substitute, but too long unless I leave out one washer. It still leaks. His advice was burn the house down & start from scratch or go to plumbing school. Home depot has been a bust. It is impossible to find washers even. We used to have an old Ace and he had everything, but retired. Help appreciated.

When u put on the shower the water comes out of the faucet and a constant drip drip drip.

    Hi Hellook...

I would recommend that you contact the Price Pfister people directly... click on link below:

Pfister - Home | Kitchen Faucets, Bathroom Faucets, Showerheads, Accessories

Here is the direct contact page with telephone numbers:

Pfister - Contact Us | Company and Customer Service Contact Information

I would call these guys and speak with the technical department. Most likely, you will need to send an email with a picture of your faucet and part needed... unless you know the faucet model number, of course, and then you can just tell them that and they would send you the part.

Let me know how you make out, OK?

    Mark

PS: A drip after diverting to the shower isn't uncommon on older faucets so if that is all you have here, but still have a great shower flow, I really wouldn't worry about it. Up to you... :)

Hi massplumber. Thank You for answering so quickly. I have called pricepfister and they have sent me some replacements but they were not right and did not work.

These are a bit different as the threads are before the thing with holes in it. I will use the link & try again & let you know.

I will add photos to this question too. Originally, I replaced them and the original contractor poured cement over them if you can imagine so I had to chisel them out. At the time they had an Ace in business for 50 years so he kept all the parts & I was able to replace, but his time he retired.

It is too bad the old timers retire who kept everything. Again Thanks so much for the link.

Did you replace the diverter seat? Do you have the old diverter stem? Do you know how to post pictures? If so, post pictures of old and new stem.

Hi hkstroud. Thank you for your reply. Yes, I did replace the seat and could replace it again as I bought a whole bag on eBay.

I will take phots of new & old stem next to each other & by itself, but I am not sure how to upload on here. Do you press Embed image?

    I appreciate the help.
