Do you know how to check fuses or reset circuit breakers before calling someone?

No. Do I just throw each breaker to see? Or is there a trick? The other outlet in the laundry room works fine, so did this one, then it quit. So that means its on a different circuit?

Not necessarily, could be, but doubt it.

To reset a circuit breaker, you need to turn it off then back on.

If this nonworking outlet is on the same circuit as a working outlet, there is a loose connection either in the last working outlet on the circuit or at the nonworking outlet.

If your not knowledgeable of working on live wiring and know what to look for, call in a good service electrician to troubleshoot the problem and repair as necessary.

Could be on the same circuit, and the bad connection may be either of those 2 boxes, or any in between.
A tripped GFI?

Thank you to all and I'm so grateful 2 experts responded. I will get an electrician in to troubleshoot and make the home inspector aware that I will bear the cost rather than foist this on the buyer. That's the fair thing.
