If something is hardwired does it have a wall switch or does it turn on from the light itself

Either way is acceptable unless they are the only light source in the room. Then, they must be switch controlled at the room entrance. Many people install them along side of china cabinets and buffets and wire them from an existing outlet. Then, they are controlled at the light unless noted above.
