Pardon my jadedness, but I translate that all too common remark as 'I am getting tired of all the problems with seeing each other so far away, but I don't want to let you go because I haven't replaced you yet.'

What can you do? Not much except to agree, and try to change your feelings for her. It's your decision whether to continue to see her or tell her that you would like to find someone who really does want to see you. She's being selfish.

Have you talked face to face? I would have to know what's up with this take a step back stuff, and then decide whether I was going to go along with it. How old are you, and how long is this distance stuff going to last, and how long have you been together?
