    Can I drill a hole through a main floor joist
    I now I can drill holes and run wire through floor joists, but can I drill holes and run wire through a main floor joist this main floor joist is thicker than all the other joist?

    If this main joist is the center beam supported by columns, I would say no.

    If this floor joist is a double and at same height as other floor joist , yes u can. No more then 3 feet from plate or girder. No more then 1 inch hole and in center of joist for 2x8 lumber.
