My friend went to a hearing yesterday over custody of her daughter. It didn't go good at all. She didn't have a lawyer and wasn't perpared at all. The father asked for a hair folical test and she took it, but she knows she will fail for marijuana. What do u think will happen? And What can she do so she doesn't loose all her rights?

1. no lawyer ( this is not like judge judy or small claims court,) family court wants properly prepared motions and more

3. knows she uses drugs and consented to test anyway but will fail. * why not just refuse test ?

I would say that the other party ( father) will have a much better chance of winning everything he is asking for at this point.

What is each side asking for

It might be just my opinion, but IMO if someone who once smoked (but didn't inhale) grass can be the leader of the free world, a mother who once smoked it can have joint (no pun intended) custody. :)
