I am in US on L1 visa for the whole of year 2010 except 1 month in India. My wife never came to US during 2010 & working in India. She has a SSN already since she lived in US during 2008. Can I file married jointly & get more deductions? Do I need to show my wife income in India? If so, how the conversion works on the taxable salary that has been received in India. Can I claim this credit as the tax for the salary has been paid in India already. Please advise. Thanks.
