Leading a platoon in column left help?
Hello, I'll be taking my NJROTC chief's test soon, and I am needing some help with what I should be doing when I command a column left(right) movement. If I am 6 paces centered to the right of the platoon, and I am performing a column left movement, what am I supposed to do? Pictures, videos or detailed descriptions would be an enormous help.

Will you already be moving when you call this command or will it be from a HALTED position?

I'm in the Marines so things maybe different.

If you're on the right side of the formation, centered. You want to remain in that spot after the movement is finished. In order for this to be done you need to also engage in this movement and do the column left fully as well, along with your platoon. If you're on the left side on a column left you would slow your march to a march in place until you're centered on the platoon again and then execute your left column from mark time. (march in place)

Watch this video. At the 7 minute mark watch the guy leading the platoon. How he waits to turn until he is in the center of the platoon again.
