When you suspect fraud by a parent using their child's info as credit, who to call?
Who is the entity to contact when you SUSPECT possible child identity fraud? I have no concern in this situation, however, what I am concerned about is, that a (under-12-years-old) child's credit history will be damaged (if it isn't in danger already) by a parent or father whom I suspect with good reason is using the child's SSN to make purchases and postal deliveries with credit cards possibly in the child's name, when the child is not even 12 nor 13 years old yet. How can this anonymously be reported and can they investigate it with only a Name & address, without an SSN? (because obviously I would not & do NOT have any SSN of the child, since I am NOT the parent) & thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Notify the credit card company. They may or may not pay attention to you BUT when so many credit card debts are going unpaid the fraud department may be very interested.

The child probably got some sort of mailing for a credit card. My DOG got a pre-approved credit card a few months ago. What are these companies thinking?

Thanks, for the advice! & Although your DOG received (as you said) a pre-approved credit card a few months ago, I also read somewhere that if a child gets some sort of mailing for a credit card, it's because somewhere there is ALREADY a credit card in that child's name (if that's true)! (& Yes, credit card companies are out of control)!

When the child turns 18 he or she will at some point seek credit. If a credit report shows something adverse, don't you suppose it would be a simple matter to straighten this out?
"I am being given an adverse credit history because of a charge card issued when I was 12 years old? Are you out of your mind?" :p
