In New York if I paid for the carpet in my apartment can I take it when I leave?
I live in westfield ,New York . The apartment where I live was my grandmothers, she past away and now its my aunts. When I moved in I painted and installed new carpet when grandma was alive. The place was filthy, carpet filthy and ripped,it was very cheap indoor/ outdoor carpet. The apartment is now my aunts after grandma past away, I have done work on the apartment building for a fraction of the cost for her and she doesn`t appreceate it and is a full blown nasty person can I take the carpet when I decide to move.

Carpeting is generally considered a fixture and would not be removeable.
