How do I go back to my natural hair color?
I have been dying my hair for years and throughout the years, I have changed my shade so many times I can't even begin to count! I haven't dyed my hair in over 3 months and I would really like to go back to a natural color. The problem that I have run into is that the ends are different than the middle and the middle is different than the roots. It's almost like I have "ombre" hair. I tried to strip my hair with this shampoo/powder mix and all it did was turn the top of my hair bright orange and did nothing to the ends. Then I tried something Sally's sold me and it did the same thing. Nothing to the ends, only made part of my hair bright orange. My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary in a month and I want to have a normal hair color! I don't want to go to a salon as we are tight on money and would much rather spend it on making our anniversary party something our friends and family will remember. There are reds, browns and I think an almost black soaked in the strands... HELP!!

The reaosn the top went orange is because it was your natural hair from the roots after growing, I think your best bet would be to start using a semi permanent hair colour, much cheaper than permanent and you can get some that last up to 20 washes, keep using the same one every time it needs colouring (it may need to be coloured more frequently than 20 washes because of your orange roots) and then when your roots finally get long enough get a nice hair cut, cutting off the darker ends :)
