    Shower drain construction
I have just taken the drain out of my downstairs shower leaving exposed the liner and the other half of the drain that is underneath. Is it advisable to just attach another upper half of a drain? In taking out the drain I had to take out tapcons that held upper portion of drain, could anything be compromised that will cause me any grief or could I just install a new upper drain over liner. Thanks for any help, roger

    Hi Roger...

Did you remove the entire shower floor, or did you just chip out enough concrete around the drain assembly? If so, why did you do these things... what prompted the repair or demolition?

Without that info. I really can't advise proper here, but I will tell you that normally people don't use tapcons in their vinyl pan installations, so that sends up a red flagright away!

    Let us know more, OK?
