My mother born 4/7/34 of Italian Parents in Tunis Tunesia. She has Italian passport and is registered as an Italian citizen in Trapani sicily Italy. I have this document.
Her USA naturalization papers 1957 state she was naturalized as a French Citizen.
I am trying to get my Italian citizenship and New york Italian Embasy wants to know why she was naturalized as a French citizen when she is Italian? I have all documents to prove her Italian citizenship including her naturalization papers. .
I can say probably she is listed as a French citizen because Tunis was a colony of France, however, they (Italian embassy) want proof she did not renounce her Italian citizenship before coming to USA. HOW and where do I get this information. Rosemary >Removed<
