    W-7 tax
    I am currently on H1B visa. Went back to my country and got married. Can I use certified & translated marriage certificate as proof of marriage to obtain ITIN(form w-7)? My wife currently does not have H4 visa for IRS to cross check with USCIS.

    The preferred identification document is a notarized and apostille'd photocopy of her PASSPORT.

    The marriage certificate is NOT acceptable.
