Hi, I have had a couple loads of laundry ruined due to dark blotches that have appeared out of no where on my clothes. They are not bleach spots. I don't wash with bleach. I keep like colors together. I don't wash rags that have cleaning fluid (like dust spray) with my clothes. Is is something with my washer? Please help. At this point, it's safer to have my clothes professionally laundered, though I hate to fork out the cost for it. Thank you!

This happened to me a few years ago. I had an old washing machine and I tried and tried to convince my husband, NOW X, that it was the washing machine doing this to our whites, and his white work shirts, and not me, nor the laundry it was sitting in or my detergent or anything else. Something is happening inside the tub. Not the immediate tub but the tub outside the tub.. get it. I don't know if it's rust or what it is but it will not stop until you get a new one. Trust me, I tried the vinegar, Iron Out and everything else. You need a new washer... sorry.
