My well froze the other day and the check valve was leaking so I replaced that and the gauge started leaking so I replace that and now My well will not cut on with the cut in switch it just keeps dropping in pressure even when the switch cuts in. It waits like 1 min before it finely turns on and when it gets back up to the cut out pressure it does the same thing again, and when no water is running it holds pressure. I put a new on off switch and still having the same problem.

Are you saying that there is a 1 minute delay after the points of the switch close, that the pump comes on? Or, are you saying that there is a 1 minute delay after the pressure gauge reaches the cut on pressure, that the pump comes on?

That after the points on the switch close it takes 1 minute to come on.

Is this a dug well or a drilled well?
Is pump at bottom of well or surface?

When you say your well froze you must mean that the pipes from the well head to the tank froze. If that is correct, chances are that the pipes are stilled filled with ice, with only a small opening for water to pass through. Hence the long time for the water to get to the tank. I am also assuming that the only way you know the pump has started is the increase in pressure in the tank.

Suggest you open a faucet and let pump run to thaw ice. How long will depend on whether ice build up or blockage is at one place or through out the entire pipe.

With the faucet open and the pump running you will see how much volume you have from the well and pump after the tank looses it's pressure.

There is no ice in the pipes it only froze one night 3 weeks ago I had plinty of pressure the same day I just noticed the leaks and started fixing them first I replaced the gauge and the pressure was fine I did not loose prasure till I replaced the check valve. Now the pressure makes it to the cut out and whin it gets to cut in the points connect and the pressure keeps droping fast till it get to 10-15 psi and stays for about 1 min before it repets the cycle and if no water is on the pressure stayes at the cut out point

If the switch is located on the well pipe, suggest removing it from the pipe and cleaning orifice to the switch and the tee that it is in. If the switch located somewhere else, remove the small tube between the tank and the switch. Clean the tube and make sure that it is clear, and clean the orifice of the switch.

I have replaced the pipe and switch already I thaught that the switch was bad because it was cuting in but the pump won't come on

About the only thing left that I can think of is a leaking well pipe.

One more thought, could the check valve be defective? That is, leaks under low pressure.

Water loged tank and the safety valve was keeping the pump from coming on because it lost pressure so fast thanks guys for your help.
