My cat has recently lost about 4 pounds in a month. She used to be quite large (15 pounds) and very vocal and fun loving. Recently she has been secluding herself and living under my bed not coming out for anything. If you try to stroke her she kind of growls but sounds like she has no energy (she doesn't hiss just this mix of puring and growling) She doesn't eat much at all anymore or when she does she takes a few small bits and she's done. She's lost some of her personality too. She doesn't come out anymore when we eat or watch TV which used to be a regular occurrence. A recent x-ray didn't indicate anything wrong but there is certinaly something wrong in my mind. I had heard once that when cats are dying they like to hid under things to get away and die quietly. Could it be true my cat is dying? Is it likely that there is something causeing her not to eat which has now caused her to become weak from not eating? Would this not show up in an x-ray? Does my explanation seem to indicate anything serious that could be wrong with her?
