Hey, 32+1 and I have a itchy part at the top of my bump just under my left breast. It's really irritating it feels hot to touch but there's no rash there or anything, it's not my bra rubbing but I also get shooting pains going into my stomach where the itch is, sometimes it itches other times its just irritating, had it for a couple of days now. Did or does anyone else get this or should I ring my midwife? Xxx

Some itchiness is common in pregnancy as the skin is stretched considerably. You may find some relief will cool compresses applied to the area. Some women find an oatmeal bath can sooth the skin.

If it spreads or you develop a rash or small bumps, obviously check with your midwife. Some women will develop what is known as PEP (polymorphic eruption of pregnancy). It is basically harmless, but very annoying.

For the peace of mind, ring your midwife as she may want you to come round so that she can take a look. You would want to check with her before you used any type of medicated lotion or cream.
