    Lamp Cords
    Hi,

Thinking about under cabinet lights. Can I run 110V lamp cord in
Behind sheet rock - by code?

I will use 3 separate fixtures and run the three feeds behind the
Walls to a 4" jct. box in the basement fed from a wall switch
    Under the cabinets.

    Thanks

U can not use lamp cord behind walls or ceiling. Besides it not being code, if u have a fire it could void your fire insurance.

Use 12/2 Romex and a 20amp circuit breaker.

If tying into an existing circuit, was wire appropriate for circuit breaker 12/2 for 20 amp-14/2 for 15 amp.

    Hi

    That's what I thought - no lamp
    Cord behind wall.

I haven't done anything as yet, still planing

I may simply look for low voltage
    System.

I'm sure these can go behind walls.

If there is no soffit above the cab, couldn't you run lamp cord up inside the cabs and wire an outlet and plug into that or even put an outlet inside the cab. Or could you run smurf (blue poly pipe) up to the exit hole at back base of cabs and run lamp cord in that. Don't know if that's still out of code. Just some random thoughts.

Lamp cord is not meant to be hidden.

    Hi,

Thanks, I've been thinking about an outlet in the cabinet.

Not crazy about it but will stick to the electric code.

    Thanks again
