I was served divorce papers, I did not agree with what my spouse wanted. I filed my answer. I have since started a new job and want the divorce over. My husband is wanting to draw this out forever. I can't afford a lawyer. I agreed to everything he wanted and now he is throwing a fit, saying he doesn't want everything. Why would he ask for it in the divorce? How can I amend my answer to his petition so that I can get this over with?

You can ask the court for a mediator to work out the issues or just sit down with him and the two of you write out exactly what each wants and will agree to and sign it and submit it to the court together.
