    Copper vs CPVC
What are the positives and negatives in using cpvc instead of using copper except for price

    Positives:
Far more quick and easier to install/repair.
No special tools or knowledge needed.
You can't burn yourself or your wall.
    As strong as copper.
    As reliable as copper.

    Negatives:
It's cream colored instead of copper colored :)
    Nothing else to think of.

... that's my opinion from experience. I'm not a licensed plumber, but a die hard diy'er.

Read the post just below.(CPVC vs copper). This is a no brainer! PVC and CPVC will outlast copper, is cheaper and easier to install. My advice? Convert to plastic. Good luck, Tom

I have used both copper and now CPVC. Copper is much more expensive, but it looks nicer. Also copper can be put in use right after you sweat it. CPVC needs about 2 hours to dry before pressure. I would use CPVC unless the building already has copper and you only need to repair a little of it. I had read once that copper actually kills some bactiria while plastic pipe does not. I have not had any problems with plastic.
