    Isn't a Ouija Board just a game? I mean, it's made of cardboard!
    I ordered an old one off eBay and tried it alone. Nothing happened. I can't use it with anyone else because all my friends are church goers and would think badly of me. Is there some sort of trick to get it to work using it alone? I just feel it's a kids game and all these stories I hear are just bull. What would provoke a spirit? I would appreciate any help/answers! Thank you.

    Yes, you can use it alone. If you search AMHD you will find MANY threads and MANY opinions about Ouija Boards.

    https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/parano...ne-77967.html; https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/magic/...d-269792.html; https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/parano...ard-12062.html

    The use of Ouija boards has also been discussed in the AMHD religious forums.

    I am amused by more than one site which advises that people suffering from mental illness syould NOT use a Ouija board. Witchboard Central: All your Ouija board questions answered!

    Thank you, but I need more information and answers.

    What answers do you want?

    Yes, you can use it alone. Yes, other people believe and no, other people don't believe.

    Did you read any of the references I posted?

    If you are asking for my opinion I think it's "bull."

    What do you need to know that is not covered in the 4 sites I posted, including the one on witchcraft?

    If I use the Ouija and it does not respond, could that still mean I have opened up a realm for evil spirits to come? I wonder why it's not working on me alone. You think Ouija's are bull? Correct me if I'm wrong. Will it work on you if you are a Christian? Will you go to hell if you use it, but believe in God? I hate to say it, but, I've even asked evil spirits to communicate with me, but nothing's happened.

    So, could evil spirits come out if the planchette didn't move? What do you think? And anymore advice would be extremely helpful - like what to say to make communication with spirits - evil or good.

    (1) Read the Witchcraft site;

    (2) Yes, I think Ouija's are bull;

    (3) Yes, it will "work" on you if you are a Chistian (see #1 above);

    (4) I don't know who goes to Hell and who does not. I'm not sure anyone knows 100%. If you believe you will, yes, you probably will;

    (5) If you are Christian and ask evil spirits to contact you and you believe in Hell, yes, you will probably go to Hell (if you believe in Hell);

    (6) Will you go to Hell (see #4 and #5 above);

    (7) Yes, "spirits" could still be out, running around loose (see #1 above);

    (8) How to communicate (see #1 above).

    It would appear that you may not be the good Christian you think you are or profess to be if you are this hung up on a Ouija Board.

    You have no right to judge me on my Christian beliefs, that's rude of you... only to help me find the answers I am looking for and only God can judge, so just stop right there, okay?

    I'm experienced (Christian and a counselor) and have researched Ouija boards. It takes two to tango and to elicit a spirit. It might be a good spirit or an evil one. Yes, it will work on you if you are a Christian. (Of course, a Christian knows enough to stay away from Ouija boards. If a Christian plays around with one, that says that person isn't much of a Christian.) I got scared out of my wits years ago by what happened with a Ouija board at a friend's party, so my strong suggestion is to leave it alone.

    Wondergirl,

    What happened when you played with the board?

    You seem to be stuck here. In one post you say that you think it's just a toy, then you post that you're afraid of the evil spirits you may have unleashed. Which is it? Toy, or real?

    You ask how to make it work. If it's a toy, like you yourself proclaimed, then there's no way to make it work. Like you said, it's a piece of cardboard.

    This all comes down to what you believe in. If you believe it's just a toy then why are you worried about any consequences in playing with it? If it goes against your beliefs and you fear that you may go to hell for using it and unleashing evil spirits, then it's no longer a toy in your eyes, and it's best to get rid of it.

    Altenweg,

    I'm just asking questions! I'm curious! I just wanted to know other people's opinions - like the site is intended for.

    Yes, and I gave you my opinion.

    The board is what you make it. If you think it's a toy, then it won't work for you. If you believe it's real then it may work for you, but you risk releasing something evil. So, what do you believe, because you seem to jump back and forth from toy to real.

    The fact is, there's no one that can give you a definite answer because it all depends on belief. It's a lot like religion, ask 10 different people their opinion, you'll get 10 different answers.

    I have used the board quite a few times... With people and by myself.

    I felt that I had more success using it with others.

    To me, I found it both scary and exciting...

    If you're going to use it, then you should with other people.

    Just my opinion.

    I have every right to judge you in any manner I chose. YOU are the one who brought up your Christian beliefs. YOU are the one who is worried about going to Hell. YOU are the one who won't let this drop.

    If I post I worship the sun and ask for opinions I expect to get opinions.

    You're a little confused about Ask Me Help Desk. It's a question and answer board. You asked. Several people answered. It's not a roundtable discussion.

    Every single question you have asked was answered in my very first post.

    The other player and I were given factual information by the board, info that we didn't have the faintest notion of beforehand. It was verified by the only person in the room who knew the info be true. I had no understanding or knowledge of Ouija at the time, and vowed to stay away from it for the rest of my life. I advise you to do so too, especially if you're a Christian.

    JudyKayTee,

    You may judge me, but it doesn't count. I'm new to this. I'm new to the Ouija board. Who knows, I may be questioning God! You don't know my life or what I've been through. NO, I won't let this drop! I came here to post a question and receive answers! You can't judge me... you don't even know me! Fair enough to say?

    If you're going to keep arguing, then I will ask that this thread be closed.

    Judy as well as everyone else answered your questions.

    If you want to discuss the board, fine. If you're going to argue. Not fine.

    The Ouija board is very much like voodoo. It messes with the mind and with one's connection to God. Deuteronomy 18:9-13 is only one place where God forbids consulting anyone/anything that practices “divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.” Voodoo, just like the Ouija board, is dangerous because it opens people up to the influence of demons. For the Christian, voodoo denies the primacy of Jesus Christ and His atoning work on the cross and the need for redemption solely through faith in Him.

    Of course, if you're not a religious person, it doesn't matter, so please then disregard this post.

    Out of greenies but well said. Ends all doubt - I like this. The quote is well worth remembering.

    I can't say that a ouija can be a gateway to other planes or dimensions or a world of spirits that can tell us of the future.

    I can't say that it isn't either.

    Some will attest to it being a toy or game.
    Others claim it brought evil, ruin, and disaster to them.

    There are thousands of stories to go with either claim.

    Personally, I will not have one in my house, and do not care to be where one is being used.
    The best case scenario is insight into what's ahead or what is happening we can't perceive.

    The worst case scenario is unbelievably bad.

    From what I personally have experienced, and have no way to affirm or dispute if the ouija was the catalyst or not, was sufficient enough to convince me that I can live my life without having one around .

    I would discourage having or using one to anyone who asks.
