Have the dealership send a letter to the insurance company informing them that they never informed you of the incident.

In the future use a different dealer.

    Hello l:

In addition to Scott's excellent advice, I think the dealership damaged you, and I think you should sue them...

I believe your car is worth LESS because they damaged it and repaired it. Take it to another dealership and ask them to evaluate your car for you, as opposed to what an UNDAMAGED and UNREPAIRED car would be worth. If there IS a difference, sue them for it.

First ask them to pay you; if they refuse, then sue.

Why does the insurance company care? Have they been asked to pay a claim (reimburse the dealership for the repairs)?

Or is the insurance company seeking to raise your premiums because of the accident? If they do, you should seek compensation from the dealership for that too.
