Do I have to have my rights read to me in ontario
I was arrested at my work for theft, they interrogated me and when I admitted the loss prevention arrested me and read my rights, when the police officer got there she talked to me, she charged me with theft under 5000 but didn't read my rights to me at all.. Does she have to or because the loss prevention officer did, the cop didn't have to?? If she's was supposed to what can u do?. My court date is Monday and this happened two weeks ago

No the officer did not have to read you your rights because you were not arrested. You were charged.

Not sure what the equivalent of Mirandizing is in Canada, but the only impact of not reading your rights would be that your confession could not be used in court.

Also it sounds like you were initially interrogated by company personnel (you said "when the police officer got there..."). So they may not be under any legal compunction.

    I would contact an attorney.
