I just want to add that I also am having trouble with my honda accord starting up.

I got a honda accord LX 1998 with over 119.000 miles, and just within a few months ago, I began having the trouble of not being able to start the car right up, specially when it is hot outside. I have been able to usually start after 3 or 4 times of turning the key.
Don't know if there is a factory defect, but I want to add my trouble here. :( :(

I haven't taken my car to be fixed yet, but when I do, I will post what was the problem.

Thoughts:
1. Install new NGK spark plugs
2. Check/replace Ignition Control Module (igniter)*
3. Check/replace coil
4. Check/replace main relay--common problem during hot weather with many Honda Accords and Civics.*

Thanks there, I actually found out, there is a recall for Honda Accord for the problem I had and got it taken care of. Something about the ignition. But I appreciate your answer very much and I also think you are right. Thanks again.

I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX, 310,000 miles. I've had it almost 3 yrs and I am having the same problem. First, it would start OK. Then if I shut it off then tried to restart, it wouldn't start. I waited 10 - 15 minutes, starts just fine. One day it wouldn't start at all after sitting all night. I ended up getting a tune up and had the distributor cap & rotor replaced. Worked fine for 5 days. Then it would start up fine.. was sitting at a light then it died. Then wouldn't restart. Turns out the ignitor (Ingnition Module went bad). The ingnitor (brain) is what tells the Ingnition coil (muscle) to fire.

This may be your problem. Hope I helped.
