    If police came to my known address and they had strong evidence and someone open the door and said I didn't live there would they still want to come in

    If they have a warrant they can barge in or break the door down.
    With strong evidence getting a warrant is easy, especially at your address.
    The person who lies for you is complicit and gets arrested too (maybe the police wait for you to eventually come out, or use sound mikes).

    It really is true that the more you obstruct justice or hide or refuse to cooperate, the worse it goes for you at sentencing.
