Check with your county tax office. You may also be able to access the tax records online.
Talk to the real estate brokerage handling the sale for either the town (for back taxes) or bank (mortgage) or both. It's usually not as simple as just covering back taxes and can often take months. If the owner owed less than the house is worth, he'd probably have put it up for sale.
You can pay the back taxes but that will not give you title to the property. It would in fact just put your landlord back in good stead with his taxes. They sell a propety to get their taxes, you have to buy it on the open market which will likely be an auction.
Thanks, but what worries me is taxes not paid forecloser, he loses house,I have no where to go house paid,no lean he has,not colected rent 6 months I paid taxes last time for same thing
Yes but will I have" first pic"or a chance to pay taxes(have the money) on forecloser letter said I'm person of intreast.
Never seen a letter like you mentioned, who wrote it? The taxing body usually auctions property to the highest bidder no matter who the current renter is, they just want their money.
You aren't being clear. What do you mean, you paid taxes 'last time?' Same house, what?
There's no such thing as right of first refusal or person of interest in a foreclosure.
You sound like you are afraid to simply call the broker handling the foreclosure.. if so, go down to the town tax collector and talk in person. If you are afraid of saying you are living there, you shouldn't be.
