Is the writer of 1st, 2nd & 3rd John same as John the Divine writer of Revelation?
I believe they are two different people but my friends say the writer of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd John is the same as the writer of the book of Revelation.

Scholars agree that the writer of all four books is John.

Those titles were added centuries later by church scribes and are not part of the inspired text, so they really don't mean anything. However, within the traditions the scribes were using, John son of Zebedee bore both titles.

Tradition is that John was the writer of all the books attributed to him. John has been given various titles in Scripture but they are all the same person
